Insurgo is upping the ante in their new location at The Plaza downtown. MotherFuppets is a pretty risky improv / sketch comedy show that includes liberal doses of absurdism, screaming, physical violence, and general mayhem. Which is to say it’s very good. I haven’t experienced something this left-of-center since living in an illegal artist warehouse in Baltimore, and I’m certain that Insurgo can’t push this much further without breaking laws. It’s only happening once a week, super-late on Friday nights (er … Saturday mornings). While walking out of the performance, I realized that the cast needed a week to rebuild the (destroyed) set and allow their injuries to heal. See it now before they lose a member to the emergency room.
